Bangladesh national cricket team captain of three-format Najmul Hossain Shanto is the highest paid cricketer of the country, surpassing star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
In the latest board meeting on Tuesday, the skipper’s remuneration increased to TK 1 lakh from TK40,000. The captain is A+ category cricketer and his monthly is Tk 7.90 lakh.
With an additional one lakh as the captain's remuneration, his overall salary stands at Taka 8.90 lakh. As a three-format player, Shakib's salary is Tk 7.90 lakh.
Even though, Shanto is the captain of all three formats but his remuneration will be considered for just one format.
However, the cricketers' salary was not increased this year apart from the captain’s remuneration but the match fee was increased. The Test match fee is increased to Tk 8 lakh from Tk 6 lakh while per match fee for ODI is Tk 4 lakh from
Tk 3 lakh. The T20 match fee is increased to Tk 2.50 lakh from Tk 2 lakh.
