Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is all set the miss the upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan due to a hamstring injury.

Shakib sustained a grade 1 hamstring injury that forced him to return home midway from the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE and Oman. Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chief physician Debashish Chowdhury informed the media that they are expecting Shakib to be available for the two-match Test series against Pakistan following the T20Is.

Chowdhury, however, was hopeful that Nurul Hasan will be available for the T20I series. The wicketkeeper-batter has been laid low by abdominal pain in the ongoing World Cup.

“Shakib will take at least three weeks to recover and get back to the field. He might be able to play the Test series,” BCB’s chief physician.

Bangladesh are scheduled to play the three T20Is against Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on November 19, 20 and 22 respectively.

Following the T20Is, Bangladesh will play the two-match Test series opener at the Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on November 26. The second Test will be played at Mirpur from December 4.
