Shakib reclaims T20I crown

Shakib Al Hasan has returned to the top of the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I all-rounder rankings for the first time since 2018.

Shakib earned 34 rating points in the recently concluded T20Is against Australia to move to 286 points – one more than Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi.

The all-rounder, who earned an ICC Men’s Player of the Month nomination for July and became just the second man to take 100 T20I wickets during the fifth match against Australia.

In the last match of the series against Australia, he created the record to be the only cricketer to score 1,000 runs and 100 wickets.

The 34-year-old was also named as the Player of the Series in Bangladesh’s 4-1 win over Australia.

Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman moved up 20 spots to 10th in the T20I bowling rankings, with 619 rating points. Over the remaining four T20Is versus Australia, the seamer increased his rating by an even 100, finishing the series with seven wickets at 8.57, with an economy of 3.52.

Bangladesh T20I captain Mahmudullah has gained two slots and is now in 33rd position.
