Guyana Amazon Warriors registered a 12-run win over the Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Wednesday.

All-rounder Shakib al Hasan failed with the bat as he got out for naught, but picked up a wicket leaking 30 runs in his four overs for Guyana.

Guyana set a target of 179, swashbuckling batter Brandon King steered a century for Tallawahs but it went in vain as his side managed to score 166 in the chase.

Brandon's ton featured eight 4's and seven sixes, the batter seemed unstoppable in the ground before Gudakesh Motie got him run out on 104. Apart from Kennar Lewis (13) and Kirk Mckenzie (15) other batters failed to cross double digits.

Amazon posted 178 runs in 20 overs after being invited to bat first. Shai Hope was the highest run-getter, scored 60 off 45 with four boundaries and three sixes.

Odean Smith played a stormy innings of 42 off 16 deliveries, hitting six 6's over the ground. Keemo Paul was unbeaten on 24 runs.

Shakib returned for a golden duck being trapped in LBW by Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim.
