There have been major reshuffles in a number of high-ranking police posts across the country with Chattogram
Among these, Chattogram District Police Superintendent and Additional Commissioner of Metropolitan Police have been transferred. DIG of Chattogram Range, new face is coming in additional DIG.
The transfer was made in three separate circulars signed by Dhananjay Kumar Das, deputy secretary of the police-1 branch of the public security department at the home ministry on Wednesday.
According to the notification, Additional Commissioner of Police Shyamal Kumar Nath of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has been transferred as Commandant of Chattogram Range Reserve Force (RRF). CMP Additional Commissioner of Police Shamsul Alam has been transferred as Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Dhaka Highway Police Unit. CMP's Additional Commissioner of Police Sana Shaminur Rahman has been transferred as Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police of Dhaka Industrial Area Police Unit.
CMP's Deputy Commissioner of Police Amir Zafar has been transferred as the commander of the 8th Armed Police Battalion. Another CMP deputy commissioner of police SM Mehedi Hasan has been transferred as the joint commissioner of police for the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). CMP Deputy Commissioner of Police Faruq-Ul-Haq has been posted as Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Barisal Range DIG's office.
Sylhet District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Farid Uddin, Chattogram Range Reserve Force Commandant (Superintendent of Police) MA Masud, DMP Deputy Commissioner of Police Mahtab Uddin are joining the CMP as additional police commissioners.
Besides, Chattogram District Superintendent of Police SM Rashidul Haque has been posted as Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police in Rangpur Range DIG's Office. Additional DIG of Chattogram Range Police Iqbal Hossain has been transferred as Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police of Dhaka Highway Police Unit, while another Additional DIG of the same range Zakir Hossain Khan has been transferred as Joint Commissioner of Police of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). Chattogram Range DIG Office Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hasan Bari Noor has been made Additional Deputy Inspector
General of Police of 16 Armed Police Battalion.
Narail district superintendent of police Prabir Kumar Roy and Faridpur PBI superintendent of police Mahfuzur Rahman are the new additional deputy inspectors general of the Chattogram Range DIG's office.
Earlier on June 5 and 6, 36 officers were promoted from Additional Superintendent of Police to the post of Superintendent of Police-SP in separate notifications. The government promoted 119 Superintendents of Police to the post of Additional DIG on May 31 and June 3. 32 officers with additional DIG rank were made DIG on May 12
