Shailkupa Upazila Parishad chairman and president of Awami League Shailkupa upazila unit Shikder Mosharraf Hossain Sona died on Wednesday. Shikder was 72.
Sona breathed his last Jhenidah Sadar Hospital about 11am. Family said he fell sick on the morning and was taken to hospital. The first namaje e janaja of Shikder was held on Shailkupa Degree College ground with guard of honour. He was buried at the village grave yard after the second janaja at Nalkhola village of the same upazila.
Shikder became general secretary of AL Shailkupa upazila unit in 1993 and served for 17 years. He became the unit president in 2015 and was elected UP chairman for two terms.
