Rear Admiral M Shahjahan has joined the Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) as the new chairman. He joined the CPA on Sunday (January 31).
Rear Admiral M Shahjahan has taken over charge as the 41st Chairman of Chattogram Port Authority from Rear Admiral Sheikh Mohammed Abul Kalam Azad.
Earlier, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard.
Rear Admiral M Shahjahan was serving as the Chairman of the Mongla Port Authority.
The notification stated that SM Abul Kalam Azad has been assigned to the Armed Forces Division to facilitate his return to the Bangladesh Navy. The notification also stated that Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa has been appointed as the Chairman of Mongla Port. Rear Admiral M Shahjahan joined the Bangladesh Navy on July 24 in 1984, and received the commission on July 24 in 1987. He served in various important positions of the Bangladesh Navy during his long service life. He became the deputy director general of Coast Guard on March 11 in 2019 and he was carrying out his duties with great success, the press release added.
