Shah Abdul Karim folk festival concludes

One of the key aspects of Bengali folk music is ‘Baul Shah Abdul Karim Lok Utsab’, held centering on the 108th birthday of Pal Baul Samrat Shah Abdul Karim. The curtain dropped on the two day festival yesterday. 

Various devotees of Bangla language from the country and abroad participated in the programme. Many of his devotees and followers performed songs at the festival organised in memory of the Baul Samrat.

Sarwar Shuvo 

Music artist Sarwar Shuvo performed music on the last day of the event. The artist has been doing research on folk music for the past two years. Earlier, Sarwar Shuvo had completed his research work on Baul Shah Abdul Karim. 

In this regard, Sarwar Shuvo said that Shah Abdul Karim has made Bengali folk music very rich. In his song, he talks about humanity and the forgotten rituals. This celebrated person was a poet of humanity. 

Fakir Sahab Uddin, Ashiq, Laila, Gamcha Palash, Jui presented songs of Shah Abdul Karim as guests during the festival.
