Popular Dhallywood actress Shabnoor is set to star in a new movie in the coming year. Young director Arafat Hossain is going to make his directorial debut with the film titled ‘Rangana’.

After a three-year hiatus, Shabnoor recently returned to Dhaka for her new movie, which she became involved with a few months ago while staying in Australia. The movie's story is written by the director himself, while Tanmoy Muktadir is responsible for the screenplay and dialogues.

Arafat, previously involved in several movies as an assistant director and having directed a few tele-dramas, is now gearing up to showcase his talent on the big screen. The cast opposite Shabnoor will be announced soon, as the director informed. Regarding the choice of Shabnoor, Arafat said, “The movie ‘Rangana’ will be a thriller. Audiences still want to see Shabnoor on the big screen, and I also want to work with her in my first movie. The story is written accordingly. Despite being a woman-centric plot, there are differences. The movie's story will revolve around her character. The shooting will begin in the new year, and we plan to complete filming continuously, aiming for a release on Eid.”

Shabnoor said, “The ‘Rangana’ script was sent to me seven months ago while I was in Australia. At that time, I agreed to the project. The movie's songs are exceptional. Kabir Bakul Bhai has magic in his hands. After learning about the songs, I felt an instant eagerness to start shooting. I am currently preparing myself and will soon stand in front of the camera. Hopefully, the audience will receive something great.”

The movie ‘Rangana’ will feature three songs penned by National Film Award-winning lyricist Kabir Bakul. Popular singer Imran Mahmudul will lend his vocals to two songs and handle the tune and music composition.
