Seminar on religious life held at IU

The first part of PhD seminar on ‘Sunnat and Bid’at in the Religious Life of Bangladesh: A Study’ was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Monday. Al Quran and Islamic Studies department of the university organised the seminar. Prof Dr AFM Akbar Hossain, dean of Theology and Islamic Studies, was present as chief guest with the department chairman Prof Dr M Loqman Husain in the chair.

PhD fellow M Khalid Bin Naser presented his research paper under the supervisor of Prof Dr ABM Siddiqur Rahman Asrafi. Prof Dr M Yakub Ali of the department and Arabic Language and Literature department’s professor Dr Kawshar M Baki Billah were present as chief discussants conducted by Prof Dr M Zakir Hussain. The PhD researcher explained in his paper about the preamble and rationality of Sunnat and Bid’at in the religious life.
