Seminar on national digital architecture of LICT held

A seminar on ‘Bangladesh National Digital Architecture’ was held for the secretaries of different ministries organised at CIRDAP International Conference Centre on Sunday.

Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance Project under the ICT Division, Government of Bangladesh organised the seminar, said a press release.

Speakers at the seminar was told that establishment of citizen centric e-service delivery mechanism is one of the core focuses of Digital Bangladesh vision. LICT Project under ICT Ministry has developed an e-governance framework which will ensure implementing an open and connected government. This integrated framework will ensure citizen centric services delivery and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government.

The benefits of Bangladesh National Digital Architecture are Citizen Centric Improved Governance, Coordination and collaboration within government entities, Low Cost and Smart Service Delivery, Standardization of ICT Products and Shared Services, Re-usage of Infrastructures and Services etc.

LICT is trying to initiate ‘Bangladesh National Digital Architecture’ in every government office and this seminar is a part of the initiative, it was informed.

Md. Shafiul Alam, cabinet secretary, Government of Bangladesh was present in the seminar as the chief guest. Dr. Pallab Saha, chief architect, The Open Group and coauthor of India Enterprise Architecture delivered the keynote speech. Parthapratim Deb, executive director, Bangladesh Computer Council, Md. Rezaul Karim, project director, LICT, Tarique M Barkatullah, director, National Data Centre were present in the seminar along with other higher officials of ICT Division. N M Zeaul Alam, secretary, ICT Division presided over the seminar.

Mentionable, the world's most prestigious award in the IT sector is "WSIS Prizes". The award is given in contributing to the IT sector.

"Bangladesh National Digital Architecture" project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), under the Information and Communication Technology Division, won the award of ‘The Winner’ this year.
