A daylong seminar on ‘The Fanaticism and Character of the Society in the Literature of Abul Munsur Ahmed’ was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday.
IU Bangla department organized the seminar at the gallery room of Rabindra-Nazrul Arts faculty building on the campus.
Sayed Abul Maksud, Writer and Research Scholar addressed the seminar as the chief guest with Prof Dr M Saidur Rahman, chairman of the department was in the chair.
M Mahfuz Anam, editor of The Daily Star delivered speech as the keynote speaker while Prof Dr Gazi Mahbub Morshid of IU Bangla department and M Imran Mahfuz, convener of Abul Munsur Ahmed Smirity Parishad spoke out as the special guests.
Associate Prof Dr Tapon Kumar Ray of the department conducted the seminar and more than 200 students of the department were present here.
While addressing as chief discussant Mahfuz Anam said Abul Monsur Ahmed had been trying to know around the world from his lifetime. He was a self-steam and man of democrat as a Bengli Muslim. The students will make their lives beautiful and corruption free gathering knowledge from reading Munsur’s creation, he hoped.
