Seminar on labor courts’ role held at IU

The second seminar paper of PhD seminar on ‘Role of Labor Courts in Enforcing Workers’ Rights in Bangladesh’ was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday.
PhD fellow M Amjad Hossain, assistant Professor of Al-Fiqh and Legal Studies department of the university explained his article under the supervision of IU law department Prof Dr Khandaker Touhidul Anam.
The seminar was held at the conference room of Law faculty of the university while IU treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha was present as chief guest, chairman of Law department presided over the seminar. Law faculty dean Prof Dr Reba Mandal was present here as special guest while Prof Dr M Johurul Islam and Associate Prof Dr M Abdul Karim Khan spoke as the discussant.
The PhD researcher has given explanation on the formation of the labor court, functions and jurisdiction of the labor courts, power of Bangladesh labor court, justice of workers, trade union rights violations, political and labor unrest.
