Seminar on foreign employment held in Bandarban

Upholding the slogan ‘Jene, Shune Bidesh Jai, Ortho Shomman Dutoi Pai’ a press briefing and seminar on "Skills and Awareness for Foreign Employment" was held at Ruma Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Bandarban on Thursday. Ruma Upazila Chairman Uhlaching Marma was the chief guest at the event organized by Ruma Upazila Administration with the financing and supervision of the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

Ruma Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Shamsul Alam presided over the function while, Ruma Police Station Officer Md. Abul Kashem Chowdhury, Upazila Vice Chairman Thangkham Lien Bom, Upazila Livestock Officer Rumon Talukder, Education Officer Anjan Chakravarti, journalists and local public representatives were present at the time. 

The UNO said Government has taken an initiative of sending 1000 skilled workers abroad from each upazila. Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Foreign Employment has taken some initiatives too. He also said, Japan has decided to hire workers from Bangladesh in 15 trades till 2025. Youths under the age of 32 are invited to prepare for learning Japanese language and training in any of these 15 trades.

Among the 15 trades, there are Care Worker, Electronics & Information, Construction, Shipbuilding / Ship Machinery etc. He urged all not to pay any money for the training to brokers or intermediaries. Special projects and activities of the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Foreign Employment were displayed through the projector at the time.

Later, there was a discussion on the various benefits, difficulties and challenges of foreign employment.
