Nagorik Uddyog, a non-government organisation, arranged a daylong seminar on ‘Adverse Impacts of Climate Change on People of Marginal and Dalit Communities at Coastal Region’ at CSS AVA Centre in Khulna on Tuesday.
Additional Divisional Commissioner (Development) of Khulna Syed Rabiul Alam presided over the programme, while it was addressed, among others, by Deputy Chief Information Officer of Khulna Regional Information Office M. Javed Iqbal, deputy director of Department of Social Service Khan Motahar Hossain, district relief and rehabilitation officer Azizul Haque Joardar, vice chairman of Botiaghat upazila Nitai Gain and chief executive Nagorik Uddyog Jakir Hossain.
Project Coordiantor of Nagorik Uddyog Ishtiak Mahmud presented the keynote paper, while Executive Director of Paribartan Khulna Nazmul Hasan Devid delivered the welcome speech.
A number of people from Dalit and marginal communities from Koyra, Dakope and Botiaghata upazila took part in the daylong seminar.
