Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University organised a seminar on the campus in Dhaka on Thursday, marking World Ocean Day.
Vice-chancellor of the university Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa was present as chief guest at the programme, while the Department of Oceanography and Hydrography head professor Aftab Alam Khan and the Department of Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture lecturer Tasrif Mohammad Minhaj presented their papers, said a press release.
The treasurer, registrar, deans, heads of departments, teachers, officers and students of the university participated in the seminar.
This year, the theme of World Oceans Day is ‘Planet Ocean: Tides and Changing’.
