Chuadanga BGB Battalion-6 and other officials have destroyed Indian smuggled seized drugs and goods in the compound of Chuadanga BGB Head Quarters on Wednesday.
The destroyed goods were -- phensidyl, wine, ganja, yaba tablets, injections, heroin and other drugs worth about Tk 2,96,40,200.
Col Imarat Hossain, Sector Commander of Kushtia BGB, said Chuadanga BGB members seized different drugs from Chuadanga and Meherpur Border areas from August 1, 2o22 to July 31, 2023. These items were preserved at the Chuadanga BGB camp.
About 5,818 bottles of phensidyl, 1,359 bottles of wine, 2 bottles liquor, 58.6 kgs of ganja, 9,634 pieces of yaba, 2,580 drug addicting tablets, 2,198 pieces of injections and 10.4 kgs of heroin were destroyed on the day.
Col Imarat Hossain, Sector Commander of Kushtia BGB, attended the programme as chief guest. Lt Col Sayeed Mohammad Jahidur Rahman, Director of Chuadanga BGB Battalion-6, Ripon Hossain, Senior Judicial Magistrate of Chuadanga, Anisuzzaman, Additional Superintendent of Police, Chuadanga, Ahsan Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police, Meherpur and Mirin Akhtar, Assistant Director of Liquor Control Department of Meherpur were also present.
