No obstacle can halt country’s progress

Security has been beefed up at all mega projects under construction and key point installations (KPIs) in order to keep them safe and secure. Besides, stringent security measures have been taken for smooth implementation of projects and thwart any evil plans by vested elements.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a recent meeting with the national security committee discussed the overall security of all mega projects, asking the law enforcement agencies to remain on alert to avert any untoward incident. The government is working hard to complete the mega projects as soon as possible as per its electoral pledge.

The mega projects are Padma Bridge, Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, Rampal coal-fired Power Plant, Deep Sea Port, Dhaka Mass Rapid Development Transit Project, LNG Terminal, Moheshkhali-Matarbari Integrated Infrastructure Development Project, Payra Sea Port, Padma Bridge rail link and Rail track between Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar. All these projects have been included in the fast-track list. The fast-track projects are usually monitored by the Prime Minister's Office. Of them, three mega projects – Padma Bridge, Karnaphuli Tunnel and Metro Rail Line-6 – are set to be inaugurated in the next year.

the mega projects as soon as

 possible following its electoral

commitment

Padma Bridge will be opened for transport in June next year, followed by the inauguration of the multi-lane tunnel under the River Karnaphuli in Chattogram and metro rail project. But, we noticed that a vested quarter is still trying to halt the pace of development being carried out under the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government.

The vested elements comprising anti-liberation forces and killers of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in association with Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) are now getting frustrated as the implementation of the mega projects under construction is going on in full swing alongside country’s advancement on every socioeconomic index. We think they feel jealous as the government is implementing development projects one after another.

Therefore, they became desperate to make these mega projects questionable and controversial in many ways.

As the law enforcement and intelligence agencies have undertaken massive security measures, the collaborators of Pakistan of 1971 will never be able to fulfill their goals; rather they will be uprooted from the country. We believe no obstacle can halt the progress of Bangladesh under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
