A Science and Technology University is going to be established in Satkhira. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has recently approved a proposal to set up a Science and Technology University in Satkhira, said Satkhira Deputy Commissioner (DC) SM Mostafa Kamal recently.
The DC informed this through social media. With this, the tide of joy is flowing among the people of Satkhira. Meanwhile, it was mentioned in a letter from the field administration liaison branch of the Cabinet Division on March 7 that the Prime Minister has approved the proposal based on the report in February, 2021.
The letter further said that Satkhira is lagging behind in various aspects in terms of development in the south-west region of the ountry.
As part of the multi-faceted development of the district, having a population of over 22 lakh, a science and technology university needs to be established to create well-educated and skilled manpower and facilitate higher studies for the students.
People from all walks of life in Satkhira had been deman dingthe establishment of a university in Satkhira for a long time.
The Prime Minister's directive has created an opportunity to fulfill that demand. Satkhira residents, full of contentment, further said that the country has developed today due to the visionary leadership of honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. If the trend of development continues in this way, Satkhira will soon emerge as an eco nomic zone.
