Police of Baliaknadi thana arrested six accused in a case of gang-rape of a ninth-grade schoolgirl in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari on Friday.
The arrested accused are Al-Amin (18), son of A. Rahman of Barugram, Baharpur Union, Baliakandi, Roni Sheikh (25), son of late Amod Ali Sheikh, Mohiuddin Babar (18), son of Zahid Ali Bepari, Nahid Khan (18), son of Nazrul Khan of Natunchar, Ascharyapur. Niru Sheikh, 25, son of Sirajul Islam and Rubel Bepari, 25, son of Azizul Bepari of the same village.
Baliakandi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Ajmal Huda informed, mother of the victim filed a case with the police station on Thursday mentioning the names of six people. After conduction special operations, police arrested six of the accused from different places of Baharpur area on Thursday (June 25). All the accused have been sent to Rajbari court to testify under section 164.
