A schoolboy drowned in a pond at Pangsha upazila in Rajbari district on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was Sourav, 16, son of Afzal Hossain, a resident of Sattyajitpur area in Pangsha municipality. He recently attended on SSC exmaination from Pangsha George Pilot High School. According to locals, Sourav along with his other friends went down to the pond to take bath. At one stage, he drowned in the middle of the pond. After being failed to locate him, his friends and locals informed Fire Service and Civil Defence Department.
On information, fire service personnel rushed there and recovered his body after half and two hours of attempt.
Pangsha Upazila Nirabhi Officer (UNO) Zafar Sadique Chowdhury confirmed the death matter.
