Schoolboy drowns in Damrai

A student of class six, drowned in a marsh at Dhamrai, outside the capital on Friday noon.

The deceased was identified as Himel, son of Rajjab Ali, of Dakkhin Para area in Dhamrai. He was a student of Dhamrai Public School and Collage.

Locals said, Himel along with some friends were went to the marsh for taking bath around 12:30pm on Friday noon and suddenly drowned in water.

  After hearing the screams of his friends, locals came forward to rescue him.   

 He was taken to the hospital, and the duty doctor of Upazila Health Complex declared him dead.

Dipak Chandra Saha, officer-in-charge of Dhamrai Police Station confirmed the matter. He said, “The body was handed over to his family after recovery, as the family has no complaint.”
