‘Scholarships play a key role in students’ education’

Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Dr Md. Ziauddin said, providing scholarships is not a mercy, it is a recognition of merit. The quality of education in Bangladesh is improving day by day. Providing scholarships plays an important role in encouraging meritorious students to study. There is no alternative to education in building a developed nation. He said, this country is for Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians. Everyone has to work together to move the country forward. 

He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the scholarship distribution ceremony among meritorious students under the Chattogram Zila Parishad on Sunday afternoon. 

He advised the current generation of students to develop as global citizens. He called on other social organizations and individuals like the Zila Parishad to come forward to provide scholarships.  Chattogram Zila Parishad Administrator Muhammad Anwar Pasha presided over the meeting. Chattogram Division Director Local Government Monowara Begum was the special guest and Chattogram Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Md. Didarul Alam delivered the welcome speech.
