The rampant people vandalized two passenger buses and set fire on those following a motorcycle rider was killed in a road accident held at Ashulia in Savar on Sunday morning.
"The accident was taken place in Jirabo area of Ashulia on the Abdullahpur- Baipail highway around 8am," said Sub-Inspector of Ashulia Police Station Razu Mondol.
The deceased bike rider identified as Mehedi Hasan, 25.
"Following the death of the bike rider, a group of violent people detained a passenger bus of 'Ali Noor Paribahan' and vandalized it ...In one stage, two busses were set on fire," said the police official.
Police recovered the body and the members of the Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed to the spot immediately and brought the fire under control.
No passengers were reported injured during the fire.
