Savar man dies for ‘wrong treatment’

A man died due to wrong treatment at a private clinic, named Lab Zone Hospital in Savar on September 2. A complaint was filed with Savar Model Police Station on Saturday in this regard.

The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain, 55, from Choto Chandrail area of Dhamrai.

Fatema Akter, daughter of the deceased, claimed that her father Anwar Hosssain died due to wrong treatment and the lack of proper management of the hospital.

She said, “My father was suffering with calcium problem for a long time but the hospital authority did operation on his body as the stone has been reported in gallbladder of the patient body”

Even after two month of the incident, the hospital authority didn’t provide the medical papers to us, added she.

According to the complaint, the deceased Anwar Hossain was taken to Lab Zone hospital on last 1st September. After a day, the hospital authority conducted an operation of gallbladder on his body but after conducted the operation the hospital authority sent the patient immediately to Enam Medical Collage Hospital as the patient condition was critical but after getting there the duty doctor of Enam Medical Collage hospital declare him died.

Meanwhile, by denied the allegation Owakilur Rahman, the owner of Lab Zone hospital claim that, “The patient's family took all the medical papers on the day of the incident.”

On other hand, Dr. Abul Fazal Md Shahbuddin Khan, Civil Surgeon of Dhaka Zila said, “The matter is being investigated.”

About the complaint, AFM Sayeed, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station Said, “Legal action will be taken after investigate the matter”
