Satkhira BGB destroys seized drugs

The destruction of large quantities of drugs seized by BGB from the border area of Satkhira has been completed. Among the narcotics destroyed were Indian phencidil, various types of liquor, ganja, heroin, yaba, anagra, viagra, senegra, beedi leaves, tobacco leaves and tobacco powder.

This narcotics destruction program was held on Monday (February 20) at 11 am in the premises of Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB).

Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB) captain Lt Col. Ashraful Haque said that the present government has adopted zero tolerance policy against drugs. Following this, BGB members from the 54 km border area of the district destroyed the drugs seized at various times from June 1, 2021 to February 15, 2023. Out of which 11 thousand 789 bottles of Indian Phencidil, 5 thousand 781 bottles of different types of alcohol, 243 kg of ganja, 24.31 grams of heroin, 17 thousand 786 tablets of Yaba, 35 thousand 465 tablets of Viagra, Senegra 47 thousand 4032 pieces, leaf bidi 3 lakh 87 thousand packets, tobacco leaf 325 kg and tobacco leaf powder 305 kg.

BGB Khulna Sector Commander Col. Mamunur Rashid, Satkhira 33 BGB Additional Director Major Reza Ahmed, Assistant Director Masud Rana, Executive Magistrate Sajib Talukder, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadar Circle Mir Asaduzzaman, Inspector of District Narcotics Control Directorate were present as chief guests in the event. Tajul Islam, Revenue Officer of Customs Excise and VAT Circle Masood Rana and others.
