Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Kamrul Hasan confirmed that the order came from Public Administration Ministry on Sunday afternoon.

He said, ‘UNO Nazrul Islam has been asked to withdraw and join the Ministry of Public Administration.  He will be replaced by AC Land Al Barishru Islam.

Satkania Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nazrul Islam was made the Officer-in-Charge (OSD) of the Ministry of Public Administration in an order signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.  In the same order, Habiganj UNO Fatema Tuj Johra has been posted in the office of Chattogram Divisional Commissioner.

Earlier, UNO Nazrul Islam imposed a fine of Tk 1,000 under the Prevention of Infectious Diseases Act by a mobile court in Satkania Municipality on Friday afternoon.  He did not stop with just fining.  When the doctor told him that there were no restrictions on coming and going to the doctors' chambers, he got angry and shouted that he has the power to put the doctor in jail.

Although the incident took place in Satkania municipality area on Friday afternoon, the medical leaders reacted angrily when the incident was reported on Saturday.  UNO has also approached the district civil surgeon to demand punishment.
