The Inter-Department Gold Cup Football Tournament at Santhia Government College commenced Tuesday.
The opening ceremony was graced by former Principal of Pabna Government Women's College, Ahsan Habib, as the chief guest. The event was presided over by the host college's Principal, Professor Dr. AKM Shawkat Ali Khan.
The ceremony began with the recitation from the Holy Quran and the hoisting of the national flag.
In the inaugural match, the Political Science Department secured a 1-0 victory over the Humanities Eleventh Grade team. In the second match, the Humanities Twelfth Grade team defeated the Social Work Department 2-1.
The college campus was filled with a festive atmosphere as football-loving students cheered enthusiastically throughout the events.
