Samad urges students to be honest

Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Muhammad Samad called upon the students of the university to prepare themselves with the combination of merit, truthfulness, patriotism and honesty to take future leadership of the country.

He made the call while speaking as the chief guest at the orientation programme of 1st year Honours students of BSS, Department of Peace and Conflict Studies of Dhaka University (DU) was held at Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium of the university on Tuesday.

Samad congratulated the students of the department, saying that since ancient time our subcontinent is rich in knowledge. 

Divisional Chairman Saifuddin Ahmed presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Dr Sadeka Halim was the special guest. Teachers, student advisors, current and former students of the department attended the programme.

The Bangladesh Peace and Conflict Studies Alumni Association of DU handed over a check of Taka 24,000 to the department.
