State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has dedicated his life for the realization of the rights of the people of Bengal.  Has been imprisoned for about 14 years.  Despite knowing about the execution, he spoke of the liberation of the people of Bengal.  Under his leadership Bangladesh became independent.  As a visionary leader since independence he has enacted many laws including the law of the sea.

One year after his enactment of the Law of the Sea, the United Nations enacted the Law of the Sea.  Bangabandhu laid the foundation of the future in just 3.5 years of independence.

He dreamed of building a golden Bengal.

His privileged daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working tirelessly to build a golden Bengal.

We had no rights in the Bay of Bengal.  We have established rights under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.  We have conquered the sea.  He called upon the ratings to be vigilant so as not to tarnish our honour and dignity.  The state minister said a ship of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation was attacked during the Russia-Ukraine war.  A sailor was martyred.  The bodies of the remaining sailors and martyred sailors have been brought to the country through the efficient diplomatic activities of Sheikh Hasina's government.  The courage shown by the sailors of our country in difficult situations has been appreciated by the world.

The shipping minister was speaking as the chief guest at the concluding Mujib Barsho Parade of National Maritime Institute's 23rd batch and 12th batch trainees of Madaripur branch in Chattogram on Saturday.

Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury and Principal of National Maritime Institute Captain Ataur Rahman spoke on the occasion.

Shipping minister said all sectors of the country are working together to build the golden Bengal of the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh has qualified for the transition from a least developed to a developing country and is moving towards becoming a developed country from a developing country.  The shipping sector has also been able to play an important role under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government.  Therefore, the concerned organizations including the training institutes are working relentlessly to create skilled human resources in the shipping sector.
