SAFF U-19 Women’s Champs will kick off on Feb 2

Four-nation SAFF Under-19 Women Football Championship scheduled to kick off on February 2.

Under the supervision of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) the tournament will take place at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mustafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur, Dhaka.  

Four South Asian teams India, Nepal, Bhutan and hosts Bangladesh will compete in round robin league matches.

Later, the top two teams will moved into the final on February 8.

Two matches will be held in the opening day with India will taking on Bhutan at 3 pm while hosts Bangladesh will play Nepal at 7 pm.  

Bangladesh will meet one of the favourites India on February 4 when they will face off Bhutan on February 6.

Meanwhile, India will be the first team scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on January 30 while Nepal and Bhutan teams expected to arrive here on the following day (January 31). 

Meanwhile, Bangladesh the reigning champions clinched the title after defeating India by 1-0 at the same ground on December 22, 2021 when striker Mogini scored for the winners at 80th minutes. 

Bangladesh’s biggest win in SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship against Sri Lanka. They trounced the Islanders by 12-0 in 2021.
