Bangladesh solemnly observed its 53rd Independence Anniversary in a poignant ceremony organized by the Russian House in Dhaka, in collaboration with the Bangladesh National Museum and the Liberation War Affairs Academy Trust.

The event commenced with a moment of silence, paying homage to the martyrs of the Great War of Liberation. Additionally, heartfelt condolences were extended to the families and friends affected by the recent tragic terrorist incident at Crocus City Hall in Moscow on March 22. In a stirring display of appreciation, 26 freedom fighters from various districts of Bangladesh were honored with commemorative gifts and certificates. These brave individuals expressed their profound gratitude to the organizers for the recognition bestowed upon them.

Mr. Pavel Dvoychenkov, the Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, emphasized Russia's historical and friendly role in Bangladesh's liberation war and its subsequent post-war development.

Honorable Minister of Land, Mr. Narayan Chandra Chand MP, and Mr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Director General of the Bangladesh National Museum, warmly recalled Russia's unwavering support in the reconstruction efforts of war-torn Bangladesh. They underscored the pivotal role Russia played in Bangladesh's struggle for independence, asserting that without Russian cooperation, achieving independence would have been an arduous feat. The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the enduring bonds between Bangladesh and Russia, rooted in shared history and mutual respect, as both nations reaffirmed their commitment to fostering friendship and cooperation for generations to come.
