The election of Rajshahi University Central Students Union (RUCSU) is scheduled to be held on September 15 in all residential halls while result declaration will be held on the same day.
Announcement of the election schedule came during a press briefing held on Monday at the university's Senate Building.
Prof Md Enamul Haque declared the date on behalf of Chief Election Commissioner Prof Amzad Hossain.
As per the schedule, the code of conduct will be published on July 31.
The draft voter list will be released on August 6, while complaints regarding the voter list will be received and addressed from August 7 and again from August 10 to 12.
Then, the final voter list will be published on August 14.
Nomination forms will be distributed from August 17 to 19 while students will be able to submit their nomination papers on August 21, 24, and 25.
Scrutiny of the papers will take place on August 27 and 28.
A preliminary list of candidates will be published on August 31 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations will be September 2.
The final list of candidates will be published on September 4.
Regarding the security issue, Prof Amzad said, "We have all the preparation to conduct a safe and secure RUCSU election. Discussion and meeting with law enforcement agencies and other university organisations including BNCC and Rover Scout have been completed.
