Sylhet Strikers pacer Rubel Hossain was delighted to become the first pacer and second bowler to claim 100 wickets in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Rubel was the most successful bowler in the match against Khulna Tigers as he finished with 4-37 and became the second-only bowler after Shakib Al Hasan to take more than 100 wickets in BPL.
Rubel was excited to join Shakib al Hasan, who was the first bowler to achieve the milestone, the right-arm pacer was also proud to have reached the 100-wicket mark as the first pacer.
“I knew I needed three wickets. I was getting wickets. When I got the last wicket (100th), it felt really good. I probably achieved the milestone as a second bowler. It felt really good,” said Rubel.
"There is Shakib Bhai at number one, I know. Shakib Bhai is supposed to stay. He takes so many wickets in every BPL. It's great to be by his side in any achievement. But it took me a while to attain the feat.
Rubel also mentioned that he did not get a chance to play in the last two BPL’s, but was still happy to have reached the milestone in his career.
“In fact, I did not get a chance to play in the last two BPL’s. Otherwise, it would have happened earlier. Still, it's nice to be able to do it as the first pacer,” he added.
