Durul Huda, a teacher of Rajshahi University School and College, has been suspended for sexually harassing a female student in October last year. Professor Abul Hasan Chowdhury, director of Institute of Education and Research, confirmed the matter on Thursday.
After issuing a suspension order from the High Court, Huda was suspended from his post of the school, said Prof Abul Hasan Chowdhury adding that he will be able to join the workplace again if he is found innocent. According to the sources, earlier on Wednesday, a written order was issued against Huda signed by the school’s governing body president and IER director professor Chowdhury.
In the written order, it has been said that Huda was arrested on criminal charges. For this, he has been suspended from his post temporarily but he will get allowance for livelihood as per the rules of the university.
