Rotary Club of Dhaka Rising Stars AGM held

Rotary Club of Dhaka Rising Stars Annual Meeting (AGM) was held at Saffron Hall on Friday in Mohammadpur, Dhaka. At the beginning of the AGM held under the chairmanship of Dr Enamul Haque, President of Dhaka Rising Stars, National Director of SOS Children's Village, an interesting cultural program was held. At the end of the cultural program, Chief Election Commissioner Dhaka Rising Stars Chartered President Prof. Shah Alam Chowdhury announced the name of President Nominee and Secretary for 2023-24 and 2024-25 with the support of board members. 2023-24 President Nominee Rotarian Milli Rahman and Secretary Rotarian Md. Khairul Alam Limon. 2024-25 President Nominee Rotarian Faiz Ahmed and Secretary Rotarian Bidhan Chandra Pal.

Rotarian Dalia Das, Rotarian Hossain Asif, Rotarian Dr. Abdullah Al Manzoor Hossain, Rotarian Ayesha Khatun, Rotarian Debashish Mallick, Rotarian Mohammad Shahriar Khan and others. Besides, a significant number of Rotaractors also participated in the event.

At the end of the annual meeting, a special agreement was signed between Rotary Club of Dhaka Rising Stars, Rotary Club of Dhaka Stars and Prabha Arora. Under the agreement, Rotaract youth aged 18-35 years will be recognized as Climate Heroes by providing them with special training to tackle climate change and engaging them in various activities in five steps. Not only that, a separate center will also be built in the near future to coordinate the various activities of youth and Rotaracts on climate change.

This program will be considered as the signature project of Rotary Club of Dhaka Rising Stars and Rotary Club of Dhaka Stars. Social Enterprise Prabha Arara, a specialized organization to deal with climate change, will play a key role in implementing the program. Besides, another agreement was signed between Prabha Arora and Bangladesh Center for Research and Planning. Under the five-year agreement between the two institutions, the two institutions will be able to undertake research activities from different perspectives on climate change and environmental protection, publish research results and jointly organize various seminars, conferences, etc. at the national and international levels. Through this relationship, it will be possible to carry out research activities taking into account important aspects in dealing with climate change and it will be possible to make important contributions on behalf of both institutions.
