Army Chief SM Shafi Uddin Ahmed said with the concerted efforts of all, the Corona situation will be controlled within a very short time. He said this while inspecting the patrol activities under Army Operation Covid Shield Phase-2 in Tangail around 11 am on Tuesday.
He said the army has worked very well during the ongoing lockdown with the district and police administration along with people's representatives. What I like best is that as a result of our concerted efforts we will be able to control the Corona situation a lot.
This situation could have been worse if we had not worked together. Though the situation is not still enough good, I firmly believe that if we all work together and the people become more aware, the situation will definitely improve, he added.
Earlier, the army chief landed at Tangail Stadium from helicopter. From there, he inspected the activities of the army personnel who were patrolling Niralamor and Victoria Road areas in the city, with the army officers and exchanged greetings with them.
He discussed with Md Ataul Gani (Deputy Commissioner of Tangail), Sanjit Kumar Roy (Superintendent of Police), SM Sirajul Hogak Alamgir (Municipal Mayor) and Zafar Ahmed (President of Tangail Press Club) the ongoing lockdown.
Major General Syed Tareque Hossain (GOC and Area Commander Of 19th Infantry Division) and Brigadier General SM Asadul Haque (PSC of 96th Brigade) were present on the occasion.
