A Rohingya woman has been arrested with weapons and explosive-like devices from the registered refugee camp in Kutupalong, Ukhiya.
The 14 Armed Police Battalion (APBn) conducted a raid on Tuesday night at Shed No. 26, E-Block of the camp, detaining the woman. During the operation, officers recovered two one-shooter guns, eight rounds of ammunition, and five cocktail bomb-like objects from her residence.
The detainee, identified as Shraboni alias Sabu (40), is the wife of Ehsanul Haque, a resident of the camp.
Commander of 14 APBn, Siraj Amin, said, “We apprehended the woman along with the arms and explosive-like materials. Our efforts to maintain security in the camp continue.”
She was handed over to Ukhiya Police Station at around 10:30 PM and will be produced before court under the Explosives Act.
