Rohingya terrorists abduct 8 Bangladeshis

Rohingya terrorists abducted eight Bangladeshis who went fishing in Teknaf canal in Cox's Bazar. Relatives said that they are demanding Tk 3 lakh as ransom from their family over the phone.

Teknaf Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md confirmed this information around 11 o'clock on Monday. Abdul Halim.

The eight abducted are Mohammad Ullah, son of Rashid Ahmad, son of Chayed Amir, Mustafa Kamal, son of Syed Amir, his brother Karim Ullah, Mo Riduan, son of Mumtaz Mia, Salim Ullah, son of Rustam Ali, Nurul Haque, son of Quader Hussain, Nurul Abshar, son of Rashid Ahmed and resident of Teknaf sub-clan Baharchhara Union. Nur Mohammad is the son of Nurul Haque.

Quoting the family, OC Halim said, according to family sources, they were abducted by Rohingya terrorists when they went to hunt fish in Banirchhara Canal at Jahaspura Hills of Baharchhara Union around 5:30 pm on Sunday afternoon. Armed masked Rohingya terrorists took them hostage and took them to the mountains.

Their elder brother Habib Ullah claimed that two brothers named Mustafa and Karim were kidnapped. He said, while fishing in the mountain's canal, armed terrorists suddenly came down from the mountain and took them all hostage. Later, Mustafa said on the phone that they are being kidnapped and taken to the inside of the mountain. 

His phone has been switched off since then. Later calling from different numbers demanding 3 lakhs as ransom.

UP panel chairman of Baharchhara and UP member of Ward No. 5 Humayun Quader said that the eight people who were abducted by Rohingya terrorists have not been rescued so far. The families have informed the local administration and public representatives as to why they did not return till evening while fishing.

In this regard, Inspector Moshiur Rahman of Baharchhara Police Investigation Center said that the police went to the spot after receiving the news. Efforts are underway to rescue them. Details will be given later.
