Rohan murder protested, 2 held

Hundreds of locals on Monday morning formed a human chain protesting schoolboy Rohan murder and demanding supreme punishment for the accused at Ulail area on Dhaka-aricha highway in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital. “A case has been filed mentioning 15 names, and 15-20 others anonymously regarding the murder on Sunday night; already two of them were arrested in police drive as well”, Saiful Islam, Inspector of Savar model police station said.

The arrestees were identified as Md. Ridoy, 19, son of Jhantu, hailing from Molliker Tek area of Savar, and Md. Asif, 18, son of Atiqur Rahman, hailing from Porabari area in Savar. Both were produced before a Dhaka court on Monday. 

Earlier, Rohan was brutally stabbed to death by a group of juveniles, when he went to a restaurant at Bank Colony area, to have some food, along with his 3 friends in Savar on Saturday evening, though according to the case statement, all the accused mentioned in the case are aged above 18. Moreover, reliable police sources said they all were good friends, but recently a conflict between Rohan and Ridoy was going on centering a love relation.

Abdus Sobhan, father of the deceased confirmed that Rohan was 17 years, and he was a 10th grader of local Rodela Model School.
