Government funds are misused to construct more unnecessary roads that are not yet required. There are no houses on either side of the road, even there are no link of these roads to other roads. However, local public representatives sanctioned a good amount of funds to construct these roads.
This scenario is available in the district. These roads don’t benefit the citizens rather, these were built only in the interest of the public representatives and roadside land owners'.
A road was constructed in ward no-7 of Kashipur union under Narayanganj Sadar upazila, where no one walk on the road. The road started from Shamu Contactor house to the Westside.
When contacted with the Union council member Shamim Ahmed to know the reason behind this, he replied, “I don’t know about this road, it is a project of woman member Marium Begum”
When called member Marium Begum to know about this, her cell phone was found switched off.
On the other hand a few kilometre long drainage system is being neglected resulting in collapse of the sewerage systems. Locals repeatedly contacted Shamim member but he didn’t pay heed upon the sufferers cry.
