Two people, including a woman, were killed in a separate road accident in Chaumuhani of Begumganj Upazila of Noakhali.
The dead bodies have been sent to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for post-mortem as the names of the deceased have not been identified.
The accident took place in Chaumuhani intersection and Begumganj model police station area on Saturday morning. However, the local people could not immediately identify the victims.
According to local sources, the dead body of an unidentified woman was found lying on the side of the road in Begumganj Model Police Station area of Noakhali-Lakshmipur road on Saturday around 4 am.
Around 4:30 in the morning, a passenger bus leaving Dhaka ran over an old woman at Chaumuhani intersection, and she also died on the spot. Police and local people said that both the dead men and women were mentally unstable.
Chandraganj Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mridul Kanti Kuri confirmed the matter and said that the bodies of the victims were recovered in the morning and sent to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
Both of them were killed by the car. However, their identity could not be confirmed.
