Rangpur City Corporation is starting to reconstruct four important bridges of the city at a cost of Taka seven crore 13 lakh and 31 thousand under Road Rehabilitation and Development Project. The bridges which are being reconstructed are: Karonjai road bridge at New Senpara over Shyamasundari canal, Mondolpara bridge, New Engineerpara bridge and Rathbari bridge oof the river Ichhamoti.
The estimated cost for the construction of Mondolpara bridge has been fixed at Taka two crore 32 lakh 10 thousand, for Engineerpara bridge Taka once crore 65 lakh 49 thousand, for Rathbari bridge Taka one crore 58 lakh 90 thousand and for Karonjai bridge Taka one crore 56 lakh 82 thousand.
Superintending Engineer of Rangpur City Corporation Emdad Hossain informed, reconstruction works of two bridges have already been started and alternative road for movement of vehicles and passerby are being prepared for the reconstruction of two other bridges. He hoped, the reconstruction of those bridges would be finished by next June.
