A Readymade garments worker was hacked to death by an unknown criminal gang at Masdair area in the small hours on Monday under Fatulla police station in Narayanganj district.
The deceased was identified as Jahid Hasan, 28, resident of Shripur village under Debiddar police station in Cumilla district. He worked at a readymade garments factory named Shovon garments factory and lived at Humayun Kabir house as a tenant under Golachipa area of Fatulla police station.
Quoting the locals, police said Jahid was going to his factory at around 7 AM and an unknown criminal gang attacked Jahid all of a sudden and stabbed indiscriminately with a sharp weapon. After being rescued Jahid was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital where the attending doctor declared him dead.
Inspector Toriqul Islam said that the motif of the murder not yet established. He also added that one was picked up for interrogation in this regard.
The procedure of case filing is underway.
