The government of Bangladesh and India is producing a biomic based on the biography of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bollywood director Shyam Benegal will be making this film.
The 83-year-old Bollywood director has already taken to the field. Now, the selection of artistes for different roles is going on. Until now it has been confirmed for sure that Dilara Zaman and Toukir Ahmed are playing the roles of Sheikh Saira Khatun, the mother of Bangabandhu and Hossain Shahid Suhrawardy respectively.
The name of Fazlur Rahman Babu is also heard in the role of Khandakar Moshtaq.
Meanwhile, on Saturday (February 8th), it was learned that the role of Bangabandhu’s wife, Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib is going to be played by ‘Aynabaji’ actress Masuma Rahman Nabila. On Friday, she auditioned for the role at FDC.
When contacted Nabila to verify the news from reliable sources, she said, “I am not yet sure whether I will get a chance or not at all. I just auditioned for the role of Bangabandhu's wife Begum Mujib. It depends on the director of the film and his team.”
It is reported that Nabila will play the role of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib as a teenager. Her character will appear with the name ‘Renu’ because Bangabandhu called Begum Mujib by this name out of affection.
