Retired police member was killed in Magura. The deceased was identified as Abu Sayed Mollah, 62, son of Nurul Islam Mollah of village Balidia under Mohammadpur upazilla of Magura.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur police station Taroknath Biswas confirmed the matter,
He said that rivalry was prevailing between former chairman Mofizur Rahman of Balidia union council and Nurul Mridha of village Balidia over establishing supremacy in the locality . Abu Sayed supporter of Nurul Mridha was returning home Monday night after witnessing horse race in the adjacent village Borolia. When Sayed reached Modhapara area of village Balidia a group of miscreants made attack on him with sharp weapons around 8 of the night and Sayed died on the spot. Police has been deployed in village Balidia and the situation is under control.
