A human chain demanding the rescue of the missing Adibasi female of Natunpara under Paba upazila under Shah Makhdum Police Station of Rajshahi was held at the Zero Point of Shaheb Bazar on Thursday (28 March) morning.

Under the banner of Sacheton Rajshahibasi, more than 100 Adibasi people organised the Human Chain in search of the Adibashi young woman Sagori who remained missing for the last 15 days.

Speakers at the Human Chain mentioned with utter disappointment that even after 25 days, police failed to trace the missing Adibasi young woman Sagori. Police said it was hard for them to search Sagori as she had no mobile phone in her possession. They did not accept the lame excuse of the police and demanded to find Sagori within the next 12 hours.

Shambhu Singh, father of Sagori, informed, his daughter Sagori used to work as a housemaid in two houses nearby. On 13 March, she went to work at a house but did not return home. While searching, the owner of the house informed that her daughter went away after finishing the home works but she did not return home from the day.

Niroda Rani, the mother of Sagori, informed on the day after missing, she filed a General Diary with Shah Makhdum Police Station on 13 March evening seeking the rescue of her daughter.

But, even after 15 days, police failed to inform them about her daughter. She further informed, her daughter has a minor son who always weeps inabsence of his mother. She mentioned, that all the family members were disheartened at the police's inactivity and demanded to rescue her daughter immediately.

Ritu, the younger sister of missing Sagori informed, her sister was deserted by her husband. Two local persons Kamal and Sufian often proposed to marry her and used to tease her. She opined, that those two persons may be responsible for the missing of her sister Sagori.

The human chain was attended, among others, by Paharia Leader Audrias Biswas, General Secretary of Jatiya Abibashi Parishad Gonesh Mardi, President of Jatiya Adibashi Parishad, Rajshahi branch, Bimol Chandra Rajoar, former President of Paharia Adibashi Chhatra Parishad Joy Christopher Biswas and the General Secretary of Udichi, Rajshahi, Brojendranath Pramanik.
