Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Wednesday dismissed reports on Saudi Arabia sending back Rohingyas who are living there with Bangladesh passport. "It's not correct," he said when asked as there had been reports that Saudi Arabia pushing Bangladesh to take back such 42,000 Rohingyas.

The foreign minister said the Kingdom didn't inform anything to Dhaka officially. "And why will they send Rohingyas to Bangladesh. They will send them to their country (Myanmar)," he said. He said Bangladesh will only take back it's own citizens if needed.

Replying to another question, he said some Bangladeshis are coming back after losing their jobs. Besides, he said Saudi Arabia added a new provision of paying extra for keeping family members. That's also a reason for many of the Bangladeshis return, he said.
