Residents of Chattogram got relief as they experienced the much-awaited rain on Saturday afternoon after several days of continuous heatwave.
Although some pedestrians had to suffer a bit due to the sudden rain, the shower calmed the city dwellers down.
However, according to Patenga weather office, it rained in the port city as the depression over east central Bay and adjoining west central Bay moved to north-northeastwards and intensified into a deep depression. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places of the region in next 24 hours. The highest wind speed is 50-kilometer per hour within 48 kilometers from the center of the deep depression, which was increasing as a gusty wind with a speed of 60-kilometer per hour.
The fishing boats and trawlers of Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar coastal areas were advised to follow cautionary measures during the depression.
