Relief efforts for disaster victims to continue: Murad

Not a single person in the country will go without food. The government will continue relief distribution as long as there are natural disasters and floods victims in the country, said State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hassan, MP.

He also said that Bangladesh is moving forward under the dynamic leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Awami League is always by the side of low-income helpless people in any calamity. 

He said these while distributing food items among flood victims at a programme, organized by Jamalpur Red Crescent Society at Kamarabad Union Parishad office at Sarishabari upazila in the district on Friday morning. 

District Red Crescent Society Vice President Ashraf Hossain Tarafdar presided over the programme while Upazila Juba League President AKM Ashraful Islam conducted it. Upazila Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Gias Uddin Pathan, Upazila Awami League Vice President MA Latif, Upazila Executive Officer Shihab Uddin Ahmed and others were present as special guests at the time.

During the programme rice, pulses, oil, sugar, salt and semolina were distributed among 1,000 flood-affected families of different villages in Kamrabad Union of Sarishabari upazila.
